A brief history of YaaaG

  • Apr 22: Initial planning following tragic inquest of ZZ
  • Aug 22: Meetings with Minister and senior Government Officials
  • Nov 22: Incorporated as YaaaG cic
  • Focus Group with Healthwatch in Thirsk: Autism and mental health
  • Early 23: York ND Partnership created with York NDc
  • Nov 23: Launched “ND Warm Welcome” with York Quakers
  • April 24: Reprioritised strategic influence over service delivery
Plans for 2024/25:
  • Collaborative relationship building with Partners in both health and social care
  • Help establish new Autism Peer Support groups across North Yorkshire
  • Promote sharing of ideas and expertise through ICT platforms and forums
  • Developing a robust business case for provision of funded Peer Support
  • Identify fundraising opportunities for YaaaG and others
  • Stimulate development of a network of Autism Champions across society
  • Explore potential for YaaaG cic to convert into Registered Charity (CIO)
